Kos joined Nine News Perth on 2 December 2020 to front a new live and local one-hour bulletin at 5pm, beginning Monday, 7 December. Nine News is Australia’s national news service, well known for its hour-long state bulletin at 6:00 p.m. It is shown on weekday mornings, Saturday afternoons, and most nights after 10:30 p.m. NBN News also broadcasts regional news programs for the Gold Coast and Northern NSW. Previously Australia’s highest-rated news service, Nine News was surpassed by rival Seven News in 2005 before recovering the national lead in 2013. Monika Kos Career
Kos learned at Loreto Nedlands and John XXIII School and is an alum of the Western Australian Foundation of Performing Expressions. She worked at Perth radio broadcast 6PR in the last part of the 1980s in different jobs including as a moderator before she joined Divert 7 in Perth as a recruit writer in 1990.
In December 2019, it was reported Kos had joined Organization 10 and would supplant Narelda Jacobs as moderator of the Perth version of 10 News First.
In August 2020, Kos was made excess by Organization 10. She introduced her last Perth-put together 10 News First notice with respect to 11 September before creation of the state-based Perth announcement moves to Sydney.
