Merkin began modeling part-time at the age of 15 and lived in Paris, Milan, New York, and Los Angeles for 15 years, appearing in magazines such as ELLE, Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, and Vogue, as well as more than 60 commercials, most notably campaigns for Clairol and the Nintendo video game Perfect Dark.
