Mark Fuller, who co-starred with Thomas in the BBC Three documentary Britain’s Youngest Chef about Thomas, later admitted that he initially teamed up with Thomas without tasting any of his food. He said that his main goal was to use the television production to improve his hotelier public relations.
Tim Dowling, a television critic for The Guardian, stated of the BBC Three series starring chef Luke Thomas and hotelier Mark Fuller: “This was ostensibly intended to be a documentary about a talented but overambitious young lad who would learn from his mistakes before he jeopardized a bright future.” Fuller was played by Mark Fuller. However, I regret to say that I left with the impression that all of the challenges depicted in the television series that was filmed at the Sanctum on the Green restaurant could have been resolved more quickly if everyone had simply shut up and listened to Luke.
The restaurant featured in the documentary was originally known as Sanctum on the Green. However, Fuller later changed its name to Luke’s Fine Dining at Sanctum on the Green, and Thomas later changed it to Luke’s Dining Room.
