After a three-year apprenticeship with the Troisgros brothers and other experiences at prominent restaurants, he launched his own restaurant in New York before relocating to Paris’s rue Duret in 1980, where he acquired two Michelin stars in 1985. In 2002, he was awarded his third Michelin star. Savoy’s eponymous flagship restaurant in Paris was reduced from three to two Michelin stars just days before the release of the 2023 Michelin Guide for France.
The two Michelin stars, the AAA Five Diamond Award, the Forbes Five Star Award, and the Wine Spectator Grand Award have all been bestowed upon the Las Vegas restaurant. In 2002, Savoy in Paris received its third Michelin star; 21 years later, it was downgraded to two stars. In 2004 and 2005, the restaurant was named one of the world’s Top 50 Restaurants.
