Cameron Williams Nine Network
From January 2006 to December 2010, Williams was the official sports editor/presenter for the Nine Network’s breakfast show, Today. He also hosted the Nine Network’s coverage of horse racing, swimming, and other athletic events on occasion. Williams replaced Tim Sheridan as a Friday and Saturday sports presenter on Nine News Sydney in 2010. Cameron was replaced on Today by Ben Fordham in January 2011, and he will now focus on Weekend Today.
From 2013 through 2015, Cameron hosted Nine’s Friday Night Football coverage. He also served as the network’s host for the 2015 Rugby World Cup. Williams announced his departure from the Nine Network in February 2016. Williams’ media career began in 1984 with a cadetship at Brisbane’s The Courier-Mail newspaper. He then relocated to the Melbourne offices of The Australian, where he produced sports stories and editorials before joining the Seven Network in 1988. Williams presented Sportsworld on Seven News in addition to his work as a sports presenter. He was a presenter in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, where he called Australia’s equestrian double gold medalist Matt Ryan.
He joined Fox Sports in 1996, anchoring NRL On Fox, the Dally M Awards, Super 12 Rugby, Wimbledon, the Winter Olympics, the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, and Fox Sports News. In the midst of a scandal, Fox Sports declined to renew his contract in 2001.
Williams went on to work as a breakfast announcer on 2HD in Newcastle. Williams also owns Models and Actors, a modeling and talent firm in Newcastle.
