Wechsler landed a small role as a purse-stealing punk in the television movie Full Circle soon after moving to Los Angeles. Shortly after, he was cast in the syndicated series Team Knight Rider as Kevin “Trek” Sanders, a child prodigy conceived at a Star Trek convention. He was also in Silk Stalkings, The Lazarus Man, and the direct-to-video film The Perfect Game. Wechsler played Kyle Valenti on the television series Roswell from 1999 to 2002. Following Roswell, he appeared in a number of television series as a guest star. He starred in the independent film Lie to Me, about a couple navigating the perils of an open relationship, in 2008. He appeared in three episodes of Without a Trace between 2007 and 2008.
