Tamlyn Tomita, an issei first-generation Japanese-American, was raised in Los Angeles after being born on an Okinawa military base. During World War II, her Japanese-American father was detained in an internment camp. While serving in Okinawa between the Korean and Vietnam Wars, he got to know her mother. Her mother, who was born in Manila and immigrated to Okinawa after World War II, is of half-Okinawan Japanese and half-Filipino ancestry. After returning to Los Angeles, her father joined the LAPD as a police officer.

Tamlyn Tomita Cobra Kai
She appeared as Kumiko in the film The Karate Kid Part II, and in the third season of the sequel series Cobra Kai. Kumiko and her aunt Yukie live in Tomi Village in the prefecture of Okinawa in 1985. Despite being forced into a marriage with Sato, her aunt was Miyagi’s childhood sweetheart. A 45-year rivalry that began as a result of Sato’s fall from grace and his desire to regain his lost honor was reignited upon Miyagi’s return. Chozen Toguchi, who is watching, mocks Kumiko for teaching Daniel some o-bon dance moves by comparing them to geisha dancing. Glassman, however, consistently rejects her. Aoki pays Glassman a subsequent visit at the clinic where he is currently employed and offers him a deal to reopen St. Bonaventure’s clinic in exchange for his resignation as president of the hospital. Glassman accepts Aoki’s offer after she even offers to let him keep his office there.

She appeares as Kim Anderson, a researcher working at Global Dynamics on Eureka. She was a brilliant scientist, but Jason Anderson stole all of her ideas. She, Jason, and Henry collaborated on a number of projects. She divorced Jason and moved to Eureka after realizing he had stolen her ideas using a short-term memory erasing device. She seemed to begin dating Henry almost right away, though not much was said about it.
She was Henry’s wife and they were coworkers at GD in a different timeline he invented to save her. She resembled the original Kim almost exactly, but she believed the information contained in each of her body’s cells was significant enough to be shared with the scientific community.
