Matarazzo began his acting career at a young age with Broadway performances. He played Benjamin in the Broadway musical ‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert at the Palace Theatre in 2011. In 2014, he played the role of ‘Gavroche / Petit Gervais’ in the Imperial Theatre production of the Broadway musical ‘Les Misérables.’ He was cast in an episode of the crime thriller television series ‘The Finn’ the following year. Since 2016, he has played Dustin Henderson in the science fiction-horror web series ‘Stranger Things.’ It has been confirmed that he will also appear in season two of the show. In 2018, he also appeared in ‘Zach’s Lie.’
Matarazzo has also launched a clothing line, the proceeds of which will benefit CCD Smiles. Matarazzo promotes events and tells followers how to donate to CCD Smiles on his social media pages. His sister started a Facebook fundraiser for the organization. Matarazzo took part in the show to raise funds for NEXT for AUTISM.
