Kristin Fisher Career
Fisher worked for ABC-affiliate KJCT-LP in Grand Junction, Colorado, and later ABC-affiliate KATV in Little Rock, Arkansas, after graduating from high school. She went to Washington, D.C. in 2009, where she worked as a freelance correspondent for ABC News/NewsOne and subsequently for CBS affiliate WUSA-TV for four years. Fisher worked for ABC NewsOne and WUSA-TV as a freelance correspondent. She covered both Hillary Clinton’s and Mike Huckabee’s presidential campaigns in 2008.
She replaced Molly Henneberg as a general assignment reporter in Fox News’ DC office in 2015. Fisher’s bureau head offered her the post of White House reporter a few days before Thanksgiving 2019, but he couldn’t tell her what the role entailed at the time since he was only allowed to imply that it was a position she would want. Fisher had planned to organize a Christmas celebration for visitors, including family members who had come to town for a visit, but she was intrigued by the mystery and accepted the task since she trusted her chief. She was told to pack warm clothes and meet a man in a Washington, D.C. parking garage the day before Thanksgiving, whom she mistook for a Secret Service member.
She was then taken to West Palm Beach, Florida, where she was compelled to have all of her electronic equipment temporarily confiscated before being flown to Joint Base Andrews. President Donald Trump boarded the jet back to Andrews, leaving Fisher as the only journalist on board. Back at Andrews, she and Trump boarded Air Force One for a flight to Afghanistan, where Trump will meet with US troops and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to discuss resuming Taliban talks.
Fisher pointed out contradictions and a lack of evidence in Trump’s attorneys’ assertions of significant election fraud in November 2020. Rudy Giuliani was mentioned by her. “What he says in public, not on oath, is not the same as what he says in court.” She also highlights Giuliani’s misleading assertions concerning the Michigan vote-certification controversy, as well as his failure to show the public any of his alleged evidence.
She did the same thing with President Trump’s comments in December after several Republican judges and Trump-nominated public employees had dismissed charges of election fraud. Fisher announced his departure from Fox News in early 2021. Fisher joined Fox News rival CNN in July 2021 as a Space & Defense correspondent after leaving Fox. Fisher received an Emmy Award in 2010 for her bi-weekly programs on heroes in the greater Washington area. Fisher also started Field Mouse Documentaries, a documentary film firm that produces films for both news sources and corporate clients.
